Jakande is an off-grid agrarian community within Owo LGA in Ondo State, the major source of electricity in this community is petrol generators, and then kerosene lamps for lighting at night.

The absence of stable electricity is hampering the economic development and social wellbeing of this community. The most vulnerable groups affected by this are the women and children, as there is no electricity to stimulate commercial and productive activities and also no electricity to provide illumination for children to study at night.

Prado Power is solving this problem by deploying a 30kW Solar PV Mini-Grid to provide electricity in Jakande Community and also collaborating with the Community members to develop energy efficient productive uses of electricity in order to maximize the economic benefits from this project.
